A Work Method Statement (WMS) describes the job to be completed, outlines the steps involved, the hazards identified (to the contractors and Macquarie employees) and the CONTROLS to be implemented to ensure the work is completed efficiently and safely. Work Method Statement is completed by the contractor company as it is expected that the contractor is experienced in the work and the hazards associated with it.

Routine/Continuous Contractors - Generic Work Method Statement is sufficient for all occasions and standard tasks as long as the conditions do not change and all relevant staff are trained in the practice and understand the controls to be implemented.
Work Method Statement is to be submitted to the Site Services Manager (or "point of contact person") for review and authorisation before any work is performed. A copy of the Work Method Statement must be made available on request.
"Point of Contact Person" is the Macquarie employee designated to liaise with the Contractor while on site.
Contractors may use alternate formats for a Work Method Statement, however, it must contain at least the same information as the Macquarie Statement.
