Completing a Work Method Statement

    A Work Method Statement needs to provide the following information -
  • Key Steps list the major steps required to complete the contract. If insufficient space, please use the back of the form or another form clearly marked as an additional page (eg 2/2)
  • Equipment/plant required. For example: grinder, drill, scissor lift, welder, crane, scaffolding.
  • Possible hazards associated to this type of activity, including risks to Macquarie employees.
  • Safety controls are the requirements to minimize or remove the hazard including, but not limited to, barriers, PPE, fall arrest restraints, safety glasses. DO NOT FORGET that many areas within the site are Hearing Protection areas.
  • Licences, qualifications, permits - includes Australian Standards to be applied, hot work permits, confined space permits, electrician and plumbing licences.

The Contract Number is the Purchase Order Number on the job. The Work Method Statement may be e-mailed to info@macquarietextiles.com.au with the Subject Line marked "Site Services""

Where do I find the Work Method Statement?

Site Services department will have a copy, as well as the principle contractor for the task.

What about new contractors coming on site?

New contractors will need to identify themselves at reception to get a badge. They will be given a Contractors' Information Booklet as an induction and be expected to read the booklet and sign that they have read it and understand the policies. The Booklet is also available on-line in the menu to the left.
