Contracts are categorized into three types:

Routine/Continuous - regular contractors attending routine or periodical service on an ongoing, periodical or on call basis. Contractors are familiar with the site and work in defined areas. Contractors must sign in and may move to work areas without escort.

Work Method Statement may be ongoing until circumstances change or a hazard becomes apparent.

For example: drink/vending machine service/restocking, fork lift maintenance, air conditioning servicing, boiler maintenance, fire services monitoring, pest control.

Minor Work Contracts - are contracts approved by Purchase Order rather than tender (not including construction or deemed hazardous work). Works involve support for Site Services Department. Contractors are generally escorted and/or supervised by Site Services Department employees.

Work Method Statement must be completed and authorised with Site Services prior to any work commencing.

For example: fabrication work, machine removal, relocation.

Major Work Contract - one off contracts that are usually let by tender or work where Macquarie relies on the expertise of the Contractor to provide guidance on the safety measures necessary for a safe working environment. This category includes construction or where high risks have been identified and work that causes a disruption to Macquarie processes. Contractors report to the Site Services Manager (or authorized representative) as "point of contact".

Work Method Statement must be completed and authorised with the Site Services Manager prior to any work commencing.

For example: construction, asbestos removal, major engineering works.
